The Miss Universe 2025 pageant is currently in progress. Santi Liu, Miss Universe Indonesia 2025, will represent Indonesia at the prestigious event.
There is one name that may not be well known behind the event’s glitz and excitement. She was instrumental in crowning Miss Universe 2025. She is an Indonesian jewelry designer named Naomi Julia Soegianto.
Naomi has been in charge of designing and making the crowns for this esteemed competition since 2024. She has been given the title of Miss Universe Indonesia this year, together with Miss Universe Singapore and Hong Kong.
Who is Naomi Julia Soegianto?
Naomi Julia Soegianto is the founder and CEO of PT. Nafiri Jaffa Sentosa (NJS Gold), a gold manufacturing company. Even though she has about thirty years of experience, she considers being assigned the task of designing the Miss Universe crown as both an honor and a challenge.
Having a challenging childhood, Naomi’s father, a founder of PT UBS, a gold manufacturing company established in 1981, gave her a rigid upbringing. Naomi had the chance to get extensive knowledge of the sector as the oldest member of the second generation of the eight founding families of UBS. In the end, these experiences encouraged her to start NJS Gold in 2017.
Naomi explained that when she first started her career as a wholesaler, it was the only thing she could do. “I was first introduced to gold shops by my father. They thought highly of my father, and I was appreciative. I was able to earn their trust in this way,” Naomi stated.
NJS itself was founded at the beginning of the 20th millennium and operated from scratch. With the help of multiple staff members and one kilogram of gold, Naomi launched the company. She is creating and selling gold jewelry around the archipelago. Because she felt that women have a strong sense of autonomy over choosing their own route in life, she gave the design process top priority.
Naomi had started a company with her younger brother before starting NJS Gold. It, regrettably, had to end.
Employees in need of employment were left behind by the shuttered company. They went up to Naomi and requested her to launch a new company. After a year, the new business was founded with the support of these devoted workers. They were able to assemble all those who would be in charge of each required division.
“I could start with marketing, design, finishing, and so on, but I couldn’t do it alone. Until, at last, they were all present, complete for every division. And that was God’s response.”
“We exist because of all of you, not because of me.” She constantly tells the employees when there’s an issue. This stunning but modest woman said, “That’s what makes us strong today.”
